Our Team

Orange Cat

There are a number of areas in which the team members work at the Usher Animal Hospital.

Client Services
This is the area you first meet when contacting the hospital. These people have many tasks. The first is to manage your phone calls, questions and concerns. They greet you upon arriving at the hospital and get all your paperwork organized for your appointment. They also service the over the counter products and prescription foods. They are like the traffic police of the hospital.

Registered Veterinary Technicians
They help Dr. Usher with the appointments, trying to make it as comfortable for you and your pets while in the exam room. They are also responsible for all the nursing care for pets in the hospital for the day and overnight. They draw blood samples, manage intravenous fluids and medications, take radiographs, monitor animals throughout surgery, and post operatively. They work in the lab area analyzing blood and urine samples taken. They are responsible for the comfort of the animals in the hospital, so they direct the assistants in their tasks.

Veterinary Assistants
These people are responsible for the care and comfort while animals are in the hospital. They clean kennels, make sure dogs go for walks, clean litter pans, feed the pets, monitor eliminations and keep the hospital clean(no easy chore). They also assist the nurses during their tasks. They work in shifts so that the hospital has night time supervision.

Groomer
The groomer has the "hairiest" job in the hospital. Cutting, trimming, bathing and drying the pets in for their "spa" day.

Locum Veterinarian

Dr.Usher often enlists a locum (or fill in) veterinarian to assist in the hospital by providing extra appointment time or filling in when the other doctor is away.
